My research interests include advanced porous materials and membranes with the applications in clean energy and environmental sustainability. In particular, the materials being developed in my lab include metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), porous organic frameworks (POFs), and various organic and hybrid cage compounds. These materials are widely evaluated in areas including natural gas storage, natural gas upgrading, CO2 capture, water purification, chemical sensing, electro and photo catalysis, etc. Students can receive good training in my lab working on interdisciplinary areas with huge potentials in both fundamental study and applied research.
